His Dwelling

In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. Exodus 15:13
What I love about this verse is its says nothing about what we have to do to get into to Gods, so to speak, good graces . But it is all about Him and in his strength. He redeemed us so He will guide us He will lead us where He lives. I do not mean a physical building. I think this dwelling is where is presence is. He will lead us to a place where our secrets are kept , to the place where dreams are revealed, to a place where crying and laughter take place, to a place where we no longer have to guard ourselves because He guards us. He will lead us to a place where the created is connected back to the creator, to a place that is completely safe, his arms, His place. This dwelling is open 24-7 and we were given complete access to all the amenities that come with His place. By the way these amenities are far better than any 5 star hotel and he has already paid the price for us to live there in the most expensive suite. He has prepared your suite with the door opened and a rose on the pillow wanting and waiting for a lifetime of intimacy with his jewel, You. Have you opened the door yet?

influence

So our pastor has been talking about leadership and influence. Everyone has influence. But in watching Oprah a light bulb went off in my head WOW that's the kind of influence we Christians need. Now I am not here to get on a soap box about Oprah but you have to admit she sure is one of our country's most influential people. I will also say that despite what is being said Jesus Christ is the only way to God. But in watching this show I saw how she used her influence to get companies to donate crazy amounts of money. I think this is how we should be. We need to be excellent at whatever we do. Not that we are to be perfect but I am talking about absolutely doing your best at everything you do. And being enthused about what we are doing as my Pastor says is the most important thing in influence. But we should carry so much influence around our communities that when we decide to give other people join right in to help simply because we have decided that something is a worthy cause. I know what you are saying well if I had Oprahs money I sure would be happy and give to. But come on would you really? Do you give now do you use your influence now? Chances are if your answers is, I do not have anything to give, and who could I possible influence, then you probably would not give if you had a lot of money. So you say how to I become influential? Well by being who you say you are doing what you say you are going to do. Be brave enough if you tell someone that you are going to help them do NOT back out just go through if you have a doubt then do not offer. Be at church and be happy about it. Volunteer but be happy, love, give but do it with gladness. Everyone has problems and trials and difficulties so give people a break and decide you are going to be an example not a follower or a complainer. Influence gets gained when you are consistent and always starts out small. So what small steps can you make to be influential for the kingdom of God?
John 14:6

Flight Before Christmas

So I love Christmas movies my boys do as well. So most of the Christmas movies we recorded on our DVR we left on there to enjoy time and again . This particular movie I am still not sure if I like it or not but God seems to speak to me through the strangest things and places. Anyways during the whole movie these wolves are chasing this reindeer and a flying squirrel. The little reindeer represents the newborn Christian. The reindeer is trying to reach Santa Claus and the flying Forces. Of course Santa Claus represents Jesus and the flying forces represent our leaders preachers teachers worship leaders etc. This newborn Christian is running from the wolves (devil, sin). He is trying to find his Father. Of course the wolf is after Jesus the true target but He will devour anyone he sees as a meal along the way. You see its nothing personal when we face attacks it is the who you are serving. The devil wants to cut the middle man out. As the reindeer makes it through many obstacles and arrives at the North Pole he gets to a place where he is sure that his father is there. He also wants to warn the flying forces that indeed the wolves are coming and the are after them and Santa. These flying forces have become so comfortable in their safe environment. They have become so prideful in their own abilities. We so often lose sight that yes the devil is out to steal kill and destroy anything, everything, and anyone who loves Jesus. So after the wolves do break through to Sanatville and the Special Forces are so scared that their super flying powers do not work and the wolves set out to devour all that is within their paths. The little reindeer decides to fight back but he chooses something too small to take down a big wolf. This is so like us we allow sin and things to build in our life we either think we can control it or that a small issue does not deserve our attention until the sin or issue becomes so big that when we try to fight back we are not using the biggest arsenal in our weapons inventory. We so often run to our leaders wanting them to fix it expect answers from them or expect to get to God through them. The only way to God is through Jesus. While it is okay to have mentors and such we should never see them as people who will never mess up or who have all the answers. However there is a higher call to those of us that have been Christians for a while or who are leaders to realize the power that is inside us that we have the authority of Jesus so that we can rise above and show the world what is like to be a follower of Jesus Christ and teach the new Christians how to really fight spiritually. LOVE ALWAYS

Does God Have Your Attention?

John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

John 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

John 1:47
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

John 1:48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

John 1:50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

In reading about Nathaniel and Jesus in the book of St. John these thoughts came to mind. First, In the first chapter of John. John revealing that he is not the Christ, but that Jesus is.

The thing I find so amazing is that Nathaniel doubted could anything good could come out of Narzeath, but one statement from Jesus the King of Kings one statement, and it changed his mind and he admits that yes you are the son of God. Immediately Jesus says you believe me because of this simple statement because I said I saw you under the fig tree? I think that it pleased Jesus that Nathaiel believed in Him over something so simple that He then says if you think that's great wait until you see what other great things I have in store for you.

That is what Jesus is doing today He loves us all, but He is waiting on each of us to ask Him who He is and His answer is I am the son of God the one who died for YOU. When you come to Him and He says I love you, and I seen you over there under your tree walking around trying to live life without me I seen you and wanted to help, but you would not allow me to, but if you believe that I love you and that I am who I say that I am then I will do things in your life and through you that you can not even imagine. Just for believing this simple truth.

It pleases Him so much when we recognize who He is, and that He cannot wait to shower us with His blessings. When we know who He is then we will also know who we are. What are duty is which is to worship Him, and to be everything that He has called us to be to a dying lost world.

Once again, His position is regaining on the throne of our lives and our position is to be humble with our hands held high giving Him every gift, talent, problem, circumstance, and relationship. It is not until you move and allow God to work that He will .

Notice how Jesus says, I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Phillip called you. Before you heard God's calling He saw you, it takes movement action. You must get up and find Jesus for yourself.

Just like when Jesus told the man who had laid at the pool for some 38 years take up your bed and walk. He sees us in our messes He sees us relaxing under the fig tree napping as people are dying. Though He is there in all that, one action in faith one step of faith He says I love you and have been waiting on you and I have so many things in store for you if you will just continue to trust me.

Are you trusting Him today?

Faith Building Evidence

I was thinking back recently of when we had the walk to hope event in my hometown. Actually I think God brought it back to memory. While we were walking to meet the other group we passed by a mechanic shop, and I noticed on the ground was an oil shaped heart.

So often God places little hearts along the pathway of our lives. You know those small little things that he does especially for you that builds your faith these things normally give you the courage and confidence to keep on keeping on. While still there are other things that He does that are big to us that are meant to give others faith, strength, and courage.

Once you notice all the small things God is doing for you it builds your faith too, soon you will notice the things He is doing for you only becoming more miraculous. Another neat thing about the oil shaped heart is the heart represented to me our lives and the oil is
Christ blood our lives exists and get their shape from Him and His blood.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is new the old has gone and the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

As a woman/mother this illustration came to mind to explain my point. You know how when you are pregnant at first there's not much evidence (for some women and on lookers) to be able to tell that you are pregnant, without you telling them that something great is happening on the inside of you. Also some women feel great when they first become pregnant and have faith that their little bundle of joy is growing and things are happening like it is suppose to. Other women feel horrible and can not believe something so small could make you feel so icky (morning sickness etc.) and turn out to be so beautiful.

Soon there will be evidence to prove that something amazing is happening inside your body. There is still a measure of faith that has to be present here even though there is evidence of something a big belly, the babies heartbeat, the babies stretching movement.
Still at this point you still have not seen the real gift yet it is still tucked away in seclusion until the proper time until the gift is fully developed.

Here's my point behind all of that. When we are born again something begins to grow inside of us sometimes we feel better than we ever have. Sometimes God begins purging us getting some things out of our lives that doesn't line up with His word. In times like these and you just need to use your faith that he is working in each of our lives. We must remember soon there will be undeniable evidence to the world that you are carrying around Jesus with you. Of course we become the physical evidence of the God we do not see. When delivery day comes around people will gather to see the miracle. That's what our lives become if we allow God to work we are the living proof of His love just like a baby is the living proof of two people who come together and become one committed to one another.

So the question today is are we allowing God to use us as the living
proof that He is a true real loving relevant alive God?

The Lord your God is with you he is mighty to save he will take great delight in you he will quiet you with his love he will rejoice over you with singing

The Simple Miracles and Power Of God

The thief comes not except that he might steal kill and destory I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10

We so often view winter time as a dead time. Not much in the way of plants growing or blooming some animals even hibernate during this time. You would not think about planting a garden during this time the ground is not ready for the seed yet, but during this dead and dreary time of the year we celebrate life. We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

During spring time when things seem to be coming alive we celebrate death. The death, burial, and resurection of Jesus Christ. This proves that our ways are not His and His timing is not ours. I admit we would have reversed the holidays right. To the world both holidays have become nothing more than a way to boost the economy and make money. This is where the devil has come in and tried to steal, kill, and destory the life right out our holidays.

This is the very purpose of Jesus, to bring life. The very things that we are rushing around trying to make our Christmases just perfect and surely these things will make ourselves and our families happy. Why don't we give life to our loved ones, friends, co workers, bosses, and yes even those we do not like so much or how about those we do not know.

You say give life, you may think, I can not possibly understand that or even give to everyone I know I can give a present. Well the gifts I am suggesting will cost you more than your money it will cost you your time, your energy, your pride, and even bring you out of your comfort zone. I am talking about meeting somones physical neeeds this year being patient at the cash registers while shopping give a smile, a hug, make a phone call, send a card, support a child's Christmas play.

Give out the true gifts of Christmas the ones that will never wear out a gift that never is to small or too big, or never break go out of style and can be given at any occasion and the same gift can be given time and again and in some many ways. What I could I possibly be talking about?

The fruits of the spirit of course, mentioned in Galatians 5 :22-23 The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control aganist such thing there is no law.

Dependence Vs. Independence

1 Thessalonians 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

My almost 2 year old son who doesn't talk much always wants me to carry him around especially at home. Well, one particular morning I picked him up in his cute cuddly puppy dog pjs and I smothered him in hugs and kisses then I put him back down so that I could make breakfast. Immediately as soon as I put him down he looks back up at me, with those beautiful brown eyes, hands lifted in the air, and kinda of grunts. Of course I picked him up again. I begin talking to him, like he totally understands everything I'm saying.

So I say, you love mommies hugs and kisses and he shakes his head yes. Then I say, you love for mommy to carry you around, but only when you want it right and again he shakes his head again yes, as if he completely understands what I am saying to him. At that moment it felt like the holy spirit was saying are you not the same way with me?

You see, earlier that week I had been talking to someone I told them that I needed to keep him close by, well of course at that particular time he did not want me to carry him he wanted to be independent and explore. We are so that way with the Father.

We get all alone we have a problem, or we get ourselves into a situation that only He can work out so we run to HIM "daddy, daddy I need you pick me up" and so often we do not even have to say a word we just look up at HIM hands held high and immediately he picks us up and smothers us with his love, greatness, kindness, blessings, etc. Then at the point that he gets us out of our jam, maybe even gives us a little promotion, or a little power. Then we look at Him sometimes we wiggle out of his arms as if we are saying "Thanks dad but I got it from here I can handle it I just want to figure things out for myself." It is never Him who lets us go, but it is us who decides that we can handle things on our own.

Have a very Happy New Year from all of us here at the ministry.

The Right Now Moments

Nehemiah said, Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to
those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. (NIV)

In thinking about the new year and new beginnings this verse came to mind.
Though most everyone especially this time of year are so conscious of making better decisions than what they made in the past year we so often see this time of year as a time to turn over a new leaf, but this verse to me seems to say that each day we wake up we have a responsibility to cherish each day. Each day is a chance to live different than the days before, each day we wake up should be a chance not to go back to bed that evening in the same condition as we woke up in.

Though our circumstances will more than likely not change immediately our
hearts sure can (it reminds me of a song entitled "Under The Circumstance". Which talks about Job and how he chose not to live under his circumstance. When everything around us seems not to be working out and even at times are getting worse you may even wonder how much worse could this situation get do not get depressed, but remember that you can and will make it. Enjoy the day that has been given to us is what I refer to as our right now moments. We all have made wrong decisions in the past, and have regrets of things we wish we had done differently. In most cases we can't change that, the question is still to be answered though. What are we doing with our right now moments?

Everything that is said or done, once it is put into action can not be taken back so choose your words and actions carefully.

I have in just the past couple of weeks allowed things to overshadow who God says I am by dwelling on circumstances. When we do this we become absorbed in our own problems. Instead of being absorbed by our God who is bigger than the problem.

That's why I believe at the beginning of the above verse it says enjoy life and basically the sweet things. I know it is referring to food but I also believe that we can enjoy the simple stuff such as a kind word or complement from someone. If something has you grieved it will be hard for you to accept their kindness. We can also enjoy the sunshine, the fact that you were able to kiss your spouse good night or good morning, the fact that you have healthy kids, even though their energy is wearing you out You can even be thankful for the rain. Who doesn't love to curl up with a good book while it rains?

This verse then says prepare sweet things for those who have nothing and give it to them. You may be going through a day that by the worlds standards just seems to be an average ordinary day. By God's standards though there is something holy about today something that has to be respected. When we get this revelation it is time to take it to someone who does not have the sweet things in life. It is time we Christians step up our game and be all that Jesus died for us to be instead of grouchy, religious, stuck up, snobs, who think we are the cream of the crop. Because after all we do not participate in heinous crimes you know those sins that we refer to as "the big sins". Even though we know that righteousness is sin, we only think about "the big sins" in the privacy of our mind ( lust, dishonesty, hatred, adultery, addictions, etc.)

Proverbs 4:24 as a man thinketh so is he. You think about sin long enough it will manifest. Let's choose to show people the real Jesus that means letting people into our lives letting them see the good, the bad, and the ugly when the bad pops up DEAL with it and allow God to change you and let people learn from your mistakes.
